CRYSTAL QUEST Reverse Osmosis systems are revolutionary breakthrough in the reverse osmosis industry. Through years of experience, research have produced totally new most effective, healthiest Reverse Osmosis systems in today market. CRYSTAL QUEST Reverse Osmosis systems available at 12 to 17 stages - the number varying with model of Reverse Osmosis system that CRYSTAL QUEST offers. CRYSTAL QUEST Reverse Osmosis systems produce up to 100 gallons of top quality water per day and remove up to 99.9% of undesirable contaminants and filter particles as small as 1/1000 of a micron by forcing untreated water through a semi-permeable membrane. Pressure forces the water to flow in the reverse direction to the direction of flow in natural osmosis.

Water travels through 10 stages of filtration:

In stage 1,  Water flows through pre one - micron filter pads (1 micron equals 1/25,000th of an inch), which remove suspended particles such as silt, sediment, cyst (Giardia, Cryptosporidium), sand, rust, dirt, and other undissolved matter.

In stage 2, water passes through granulated activated carbon (GAC). GAC is universally recognized and widely used as an effective adsorbent for a wide variety of organic contaminants, such as chlorine (99.9%), chemicals linked to cancer (THM's, benzine) pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, volatile organic compounds (VOC's),  PCB's, MTBE's and hundreds of other chemical contaminants that may be present in water, bad taste, and odors from your drinking
water. Read more about GAC
In stage 3, Water flows through another one-micron filtration pad for further reduction of undesirable particles. The end result is a great reduction or elimination of a wide variety of contaminants.
In stage 4, Water passes through a CRYSTAL QUEST reverse osmosis membrane, which removes and filters particles as small as 1/1000 of a micron as most inorganic chemicals (such as salts, metals, minerals) most microorganisms including cryptosporidium and giardia, and most inorganic contaminants.

In stage 5,  Water flows through pre one - micron filter pads (1 micron equals 1/25,000th of an inch), which remove suspended particles such as silt, sediment, cyst (Giardia, Cryptosporidium), sand, rust, dirt, and other undissolved matter.
In stages 6 and 7, water flows through 2 beds of Redox (Oxidation/reduction process) media made of a special high-purity alloy blend of two dissimilar metals - copper and zinc.  Representing a new and unique way of water processing medium which by its natural process of electrochemical oxidation/reduction and adsorption action reduces and/or removes many unwanted contaminants from water. It is a major advancement in water treatment technology that works on the electro-chemical and spontaneous-oxidation-reduction (REDOX) principles. Chlorine is instantaneously and almost inexhaustibly oxidized.
Iron and hydrogen sulfide are oxidized into insoluble matter and attach to the surface of the media. Heavy metals such as lead, mercury, copper, nickel, chromium, cadmium, aluminum, and other dissolved metals are removed from the water by the natural process of electrochemical process. They are attracted to the surface of the media, much like a magnet. The media inhibits bacterial growth throughout the entire unit.

In stage 8, Water flows through the ion exchange resin, reducing heavy metals such as lead, copper, aluminum, and water hardness.
In stage 9, water passes through granulated activated carbon (GAC). GAC is universally recognized and widely used as an effective adsorbent for a wide variety of organic contaminants, such as chlorine (99.9%), chemicals linked to cancer (THM's, benzine) pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, volatile organic compounds (VOC's),  PCB's, MTBE's and hundreds of other chemical contaminants that may be present in water, bad taste, and odors from your drinking
water.
In stage 10, Water flows through another one-micron filtration pad for further reduction of undesirable particles. The end result is a great reduction or elimination of a wide variety of contaminants.

Note: Waste water will flow through the drainage tube into your sink. Or can be hooked up to your drainage line.

  2. It tastes great and I usually replace them every year. We drink about 12 gallons a week or so from this filter. Review by Brian Newmark

This is my second purchase of this filter in two years. I have purchased 3 filters total in 3 year period. It tastes great and I usually replace them every year. We drink about 12 gallons a week or so from this filter. The only problem I have had was the lever that turns the water over to the filer broke off in pieces, without this piece I have no water from my filter. I saved an old one from a previous filter 2 years ago and am using that for now, the seal isn't very good so it leaks from the faucet diverter, but is working ok for now. I emailed the owner, and hope they will send me a replacement soon. If not, I know I can purchase another diverter for 8 bucks if needed. The filters are great for the most part other than this mishap which gives me concern of the quality of the material and hope it does not contain any harmful metals within it, especially if it comes from China. Not sure where the parts come from, so it's only speculation. Other than that, I would recommend this company. (Posted on 9/25/2012)
